Dept. of Life Science

The Department of Life Science is actively involved in a wide range of basic, translational and clinical research projects to provide State-of-the-art education program for life science students. Currently, the Department of Life Science has 13 full-time faculty members, 2 administrative staff, and about 300 students including 220 in undergraduate program, 45 in the MS program and 30 in the Ph.D. program. We have moved in a brand new building that equipped with modern facilities for cell biology and biotechnology research. Faculties in our Department are working on diverse fields from nano-biotechnology to organisms (briefly described below). Please browse our website to learn more about our research. We are seeking highly motivated graduate students interested in pursuing research and professional careers in these areas.

  • Cellular biotechnology – stem cell biology, virology, and tumor biology.
  • Resource biotechnolgy - health food and drug development.
  • Nano-biotechnology – application of nano-particles in medicine.
  • Bioinformatics and drug design – virtual screening and molecular modeling.
